Initiation Ceremony 2010 for New Employees

[Apr 07, 2010]

The president gave a warm welcome to the 41 new employees who joined the Company this fiscal year.
In his greeting, the president said, "The Company is about to experience a significant event, when it merges with NYK Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. on or around October 1 and changes its corporate name to "Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd." with the aim of becoming "a world-class global player." I look forward to seeing you play an active role as an important force in the Company, using your fresh ideas as young working people."

The president went on to explain, "The major asset in an industry like ours is "people," and one of the keywords in our medium-term management plan is "everything is made by people." This means that to achieve "exquisite quality," each one of us has to improve our skills and function efficiently, organically linked to each other as an organization." He also added, "Two elements, namely "service from the customer's perspective" and "an international sense," are essential for the Company to operate globally and for you to work for the Company as its employees."

He continued, "The history of the Company to date is the history of vigorous actions taken by our predecessors based on their crucial decisions and constant efforts to ensure those decisions produced success. As for the significant decision on the merger this time, I hope that all employees, including the new recruits, will work together and continue to take on new challenges, so that when we reach the 60th anniversary of our founding five years from now, we will be able to look back and conclude that the merger was the right decision."

Finally, the president encouraged the new employees, "I want you to constantly hone your capabilities in both work and life, never being satisfied with modest success but always thinking about ePlus One' and boldly build a prosperous future."

The president gave a warm welcome. New employees listened attentively to the speech.
