YAS (Czech) becomes the first Japanese forwarder to qualify as an AEO

[March 15, 2010]

On March 12, Yusen Air & Sea Service (Czech) s.r.o. (President: Koji Nagata) became a qualified operator under the EU's Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) scheme*. This is the first time that a Japanese forwarding operator has received AEO certification in the Czech Republic.

Other European members of the Yusen Air & Sea Service Group, namely YAS (Italia), YAS (France), YAS (U.K.), YAS (Benelux) and YAS (Deutschland) have already qualified as AEO. With the addition of YAS (Czech), all six of the group's European subsidiaries are now qualified AEO.

Our group already has two major gateways in Europe that have qualified as AEO, in the form of YAS (Benelux) (Head Office: Amsterdam) and YAS (Deutschland) (Head Office: Dusseldorf). Now that YAS (Czech) is also a qualified AEO, our group can guarantee levels of safety and security above and beyond conditions and criteria set out by the EU under the AEO scheme and will be able to provide customers with higher quality, more reliable logistics services throughout Europe (including Eastern Europe) and between Europe and other regions.

The Yusen Air & Sea Service Group will continue to make every effort to improve overall quality levels on a groupwide basis in accordance with its mid-term business plan "YAS FIVE-STAR PROJECT".
