@Yusen Air & Sea Service (Singapore) (President: Mr. Richard Chua) became the first Japanese logistics company to be certified to GDPMDS (Good Distribution Practice for Medical Devices in Singapore) in May 2009.
@Singapore has adopted a national strategy of strengthening its biomedical industry and launched the GDPMDS scheme in 2008. Under the scheme, independent third-party certification bodies accredited by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) and the Health Science Authority (HSA) evaluate and certify the systems that a company has in place for handling medical devices.
@By developing a high quality management system in compliance with the requirements of GDPMDS (appropriate procedures, appointment of trained staff, process management and management of structures and facilities), we have strengthened and improved the quality of our integrated distribution service, which covers every aspect of distribution including transportation, storage, repacking and delivery, and we are playing our part in safe and appropriate supply chain management for medical devices. We can now respond to the high expectations of our existing customers. We will also use this certification as an advantage to further expand sales in medical and pharmaceutical industries.
@In accordance with our mid-term business plan "YAS FIVE-STAR
PROJECT", we are currently developing the systems required of a
"Total Logistics Provider" which can provide world-class distribution
services. One of our sales strategies is to strengthen marketing activities
by product category, and we consider the recent certification of YAS
(Singapore) as part of our sales offensive in the medical device field.
