Yusen Shenda Air & Sea Service (Shanghai) Ltd. (Chairman: Tomohiro Iida) raised its representative offices in Guangzhou to the status of branch, following the three in Dalian (March), Qingdao, and Xiamen (April), and started operations on May 16. On the same day, a new office opened and started operations in the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

Guangzhou is attracting attention as a base of the automobile industry. Opening of the Baiyun International Airport in August 2004 triggered an increase in the number of flights by each carrier as well as an increase in the movement of air cargo. Geographically, it has close ties with Hong Kong and serves as an important logistics base for South China. Therefore, greater demand for physical distribution, not only by air but also by sea and domestic trucking, is expected. Although YAS has been active there with a representative office, taking this opportunity of restarting as a branch, we will further enhance the network in the South China area and provide high-quality services with a focus on regional characteristics.
