Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (President: Hiromitsu Kuramoto) has installed its largest solar power generation system at its warehouse facility in Port Murray, New Jersey. This system installation signifies Yusen Logisticsf dedication to developing environmentally friendly solutions that support its business, and help the environment as a whole.
The solar power generation system is comprised of 6,246 solar panels
arranged in 11 rows, covering a 14,700 sqft. plot next to the Yusen
Logistics warehouse. The 500-kilowatt (kW) system is expected to generate
around 650,000 kWh of electricity per year, and will help power the
warehouse with clean, solar electricity. Surplus electricity from the
project will be sold to local power companies. The overall reduction
in carbon emissions is expected to exceed 200 tons on an annual basis.
With the support of the State of New Jersey as well as a subsidy offered
by the U.S. federal government, Yusen Logistics is eligible for the
Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SREC), which will help to promote
the continued use of environmentally friendly and renewable energy sources.
The opening ceremony for the solar system was held as part of a tour
of the facility attended by Yusen Logisticsf president, Mr. Hiromitsu
Kuramoto, and president of Yusen Logistics, Americas, Mr. Kazuo Ishizuka,
as well as executives from partnering companies.
