Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd.(President : Hiromitsu Kuramoto ; "YLK", hereafter) has a newly built 297-square-meter medium-temperature bonded warehouse of the Narita Logistics Center, and will start operating the facility on May 7. YLK will be the first logistics company to have medium-temperature facility in the vicinity of Narita Airport.
The temperature setting for this storage facility is between 20 and 30 degrees centigrade. YLK already has freezers (-25 to -20 degrees centigrade) and refrigerators (2 to 8 degrees centigrade) in the Narita Logistics Center. With the introduction of the new storage facility, the company will be able to offer storage in three different temperature zones, allowing it to provide exact temperature-controlled transport in a suitable, seamless manner, free from the influence of outside temperature.

An additional eight power plugs for rechargeable temperature-controlled containers will also be installed in the medium-temperature storage facility. This will give the Narita Logistics Center a total of 12 power plugs, allowing a large number of rechargeable temperature-controlled containers to be transported simultaneously.
　
Because the medium-temperature storage facility is located on the third floor, it has a high level of security, and is especially suitable for temporary storage of valuable products that are sensitive to temperature changes, such as medical equipments and pharmaceutical products. In addition, because the storage is located in a bonded area, it allows import cargo to be kept at a constant temperature as the cargo are stored temporarily until the import permit is issued and stored temporarily during devanning before being shipped. Of course, the facility can also accommodate export cargo.
　
Strict temperature control is required for health care and medical equipments, pharmaceutical products, and chemicals, which are included in the company’s medium-term business plan, “GO FORWARD, Yusen Logistics” among the priority items for reinforcement.

By combining this new medium-temperature storage facility with its “Yusen Temperature Controlled/Cold Chain Service [Porter 1, 2, 3] ” (*) constant-temperature transportation services, YLK can respond to customer needs with exact temperature control and uncompromising transportation quality.

YLK plans to continue to expand its services and increase sales while maintaining and improving the quality of its transport services, aiming to provide an ever wider variety of solutions to its customers.
