Acquisition of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard and Green Management Standard

Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (president: Hiromitsu Kuramoto) acquired the integrated ISO14001 certification (*), an international standard for environmental management systems, on March 24, 2012. Yusen Logitec Co., Ltd. was also certified as compliant with the Green Management Standard (**) on February 20, 2012.

The head office of Yusen Logistics (Minato-ku, Tokyo) acquired the ISO14001 on March 24, 2012 under the integrated certification of Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha.
Acquired certification: ISO 14001:2004, JIS Q 14001:2004
Scope of certification: Management of world-wide logistics services
(including forwarding)
Coverage: Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. Head Office (Minato-ku, Tokyo Japan)
Current Certificate: March 24, 2012
Certificate Expiry: March 31, 2014
The Yusen Logistics Group took the opportunity of the integration on October 1, 2010 to nominate environmental management in Japan and overseas as one of its values and, since then, has been taking steps to deepen understanding and awareness of its environmental management with the concerted efforts of all Group employees. Overseas, 14 companies and 41 offices, mainly from European corporations, continue to hold the environmental certification held by the former NYK Logistics.

In Japan, Yusen Logitec Co., Ltd. (president: Nobuhiko Tanaka), a Group company, was certified as compliant with the Green Management Standard for the trucking business on February 20, 2012 (the period of validity: two years).

(*)The ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard is an international
standard that specifies the requirements for environmental management
systems to enable an organization to reduce its impact on the environment.
(**)The Green Management Standard is certified by the Foundation for
Promoting Personal Mobility and Ecological Transportation for business
operators that have prepared their own manual for activities to protect
the environment. Acquiring the certificate requires efforts beyond a
certain level, based on the manual.
