Summary

China implements the China compulsory certification system, commonly called CCC, for the safety and quality control of some of the goods imported into or sold in China.
CCC was introduced on May 1, 2002, and was fully implemented from August 1, 2003, after a transition period. In the event the goods covered by the certification system are distributed or sold in the Chinese market, the import of such goods is not permitted, not to mention the sales thereof, without obtaining the CCC certification and without the CCC mark affixed to the goods.
